Greystone Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Clinical Advisory Board

Greystone Pharmaceuticals, Inc.’s Clinical Advisory Board (CAB) provides advice and clinical expertise to the company on an ongoing basis. The CAB is regularly informed on the progress of Greystone’s research and development projects and provides feedback as well as clinical and regulatory input. The Clinical Advisory Board is comprised of key opinion leaders in the field of advanced acute and chronic wound care and repair.

Dr. David Armstrong

Dr. Armstrong is Professor of Surgery and Associate Dean at the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago. Dr. Armstrong also holds a Masters of Science in Tissue Repair and Wound Healing from the University of Wales College of Medicine and a PhD from the University of Manchester College of Medicine, where he was appointed Visiting Professor of Medicine. He also co-founded the renowned National Center for Limb Preservation in Chicago. Dr. Armstrong is Director of the Center for Lower Extremity Ambulatory Research (CLEAR). He and his group have produced more than 200 peer-reviewed research papers in more than two dozen scholarly medical journals, as well as over two dozen book chapters. Dr. Armstrong is co-Editor of the American Diabetes Association’s (ADA) book entitled, "Clinical Care of the Diabetic Foot".

Dr. Armstrong was selected as one of the first six International Wound Care Ambassadors and is the recipient of numerous awards by national and international medical organizations. He is past Chair of Scientific Sessions for the ADA’s Foot Care Council, and a past member of the National Board of Directors of the American Diabetes Association as well as an active commissioner with the Illinois State Diabetes Commission. Dr. Armstrong is the founder and co-chair of the International Diabetic Foot Conference (DFCon), the largest annual international symposium on the diabetic foot in the world.

Dr. Peter Sheehan

Dr. Sheehan is the former director of the Diabetes Center of Greater New York at the Cabrini Medical Center. He has served as a principal investigator in numerous clinical trials for diabetic foot ulcers and similar skin disorders, working for such companies as Merck, ConvaTec, Bayer, Wyeth, Welfide, Organogenesis, Novartis, Pfizer and Bristol-Myers, among others. Dr. Sheehan continues to be actively involved in clinical trials dealing with wound healing, diabetic neuropathy, and vascular disease. Most recently, Dr. Sheehan was appointed to the Board of Directors of the American Diabetes Association and to the Board of Directors of the Wound Healing Society. He is a graduate of the SUNY-Downstate School of Medicine, where he also completed his residency in Internal Medicine. He continued his training at the Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven where he completed a fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism.

Dr. William Marsten

Dr. Marsten is a graduate of Harvard University and the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He completed a general surgery residency and fellowship in vascular surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is currently an Associate Professor at the University of North Carolina and is the Medical Director at the UNC Wound Management Clinic. Dr. Marsten's research activities focus on the etiology and treatment of the diabetic foot and venous stasis ulcers and the treatment of aortic aneurysms with minimally invasive techniques.

Dr. David Steed

Dr. Steed is Director of the Wound Healing & Limb Preservation Clinic at the University of Pittsburg Medical Center (UPMC). He is an attending surgeon in the Department of Vascular Surgery at UPMC. Dr. Steed is on the Board of Directors for the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and is the Past President of the Wound Healing Society – 2002-2004. He is on the Editorial Board for Wound Repair and Regeneration. He received the Award of Excellence in Wound Healing from the Medical College of Virginia in 1997. Dr. Steed has 133 peer reviewed research publications with a focus in wound healing.
