Meldra

Meldra®

Excessive inflammatory activity In the treatment of septic wounds, which are often contaminated by an excess of pseudomonas, antimicrobial preparations are generally used for too long.

Long-term use of these substances often leads to bacterial resistance and a delay in the healing process.

Excessive inflammatory activity is often associated with excessive production of exudates from the wound. The healing process almost appears to arrest in the inflammatory phase.

The honey used in MelDra® has been specially selected for medical use. An acetate fabric is impregnated with honey.

MelDra® regulates the bacterial contamination, inter alia, by maintaining the level of acidity at the wound surface.

The regulation of the bacterial contamination gives the wound a better condition.

The open structure of the MelDra® acetate bandage facilitates optimal drainage of the wound exudate.

The properties of MelDra® contribute to the cleansing of the wound.

MelDra® can be used long term without adverse effects.

MelDra® can be applied directly to the wound, taking care to ensure maximum contact with the wound bed.

MelDra® can be covered by any type of appropriate secondary bandage.

In exudative wounds MelDra® should preferably be covered using an absorbent bandage.
